missing wings

Tristan Robert Lange

hate is a strong word
but apathy stronger
for it absolutely

cares not to

hate any more
than it cares

to love;

it devours peace’s
dove wings—
but there is no

release,

for the tension
constructed,
built on horror’s hill,

is only an extension
of our souls obstructed—

isn’t our holy hell
such a god-
damned

thrill?
