What must I do...

Henry Vande Hey

Child sing, chant his praise.

What game it is I see you play

With shrill cry shrieks of joy escape

Unto the Lord enthroned on high:

Child sing, chant his praise.

What gaze of her to Him it is

With His reliance, and hers to His,

As in His eyes lie all delight:

Child sing, chant his praise

What love of two becoming one

With shrill cry shrieks of those of love

Unto their Lord enthroned above:

Child sing, chant his praise.

What files it thence, these ages past

With light, dawning now at last

Upon a wheel 'ed throne?

Child sing, chant his praise.

What tests have tempted damned despair

With shrill cry shrieks of pain ensnared

Unto one chest, one final breath:

Child sing, chant his praise.
