Spiritual Darkness

Sassy Lou

Your ghost still holds me;
your voice still calls me
Then I wonder at this hollow cold,
while every memory blazes on

I drift through twilight's shade
while your distant echo calls from the other side
I trace the constellations,
searching for the fragments of your words

The moonlight falls on empty ground,
If wishes worked, you'd still be around
Speaking your name to a falling storm
where the wind carries it away

Perhaps the tears strayed in the dark,
and the heart grew too tired to break
Perhaps the pain ran so deep,
it waited until I closed my eyes to surface

Through hollow nights your memory stays,
a bleeding light, a distant haze
Though many years have passed,
your memory remains untouched by time

When your voice reaches me,
my heart knows our bond has not changed
This love survives the quiet grave,
a sacred bond no death can break

Though you sleep beneath the stone,
your memory means I’m not alone

Though my arms are empty,
my love will lead you through the weeping
