Lost Man Standing
Somewhere beyond mortal sight
and out of reach of these hooded lids
there is a place left vacant by all those long
dead or recently departed lovers and heroes that
have repeatedly taken to haunting my loathsome nights ..

Clever title Neville and the poem itself is dreamlike a nocturn in words played pianissimo in the shadows of sleepless memories. Very nice my friend

Oof, Neville...this feels haunted in the most human way. Not by ghosts exactly, but by everyone who still matters after theyβre gone. πΉπ€ππ―οΈπ¦ββ¬

Everyone I know/ever knew are disappearing with monotonous regularity. Soon I should depart too. No sympthy or futile reassurance please.
when last orders are called .. there are many who oblige .. no worries .. you got it .. cheers π
We live, we die. We love we hate. We have dreams, sometimes nightmares. Some say, that out there, is another place that we'll either love or hate. What you've done is to sum it all up and paint it as a visitation or haunting. Loved it - Phil A.
