Tune: Lasst Uns Erfreuen

('All creatures of our God and King')

Psalm 145 v.10-17

***********

All your works, Lord, they shall you praise

And your people songs to you raise

Alleluia, Alleluia!

They shall speak of the glory sure

Of your kingdom for evermore

And talk too of your power's store

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

We shall make known to sons of men

Your mighty acts, give glory then

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Unto you, and you majesty

Glorious it shall ever be

Declared to mankind who shall see

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Your kingdom an everlasting

Kingdom, we truly of it sing

Alleluia, Alleluia!

And your dominion endures

For ever, you our heart assures

Drawing us with peaceful allures

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

The Lord He upholds all that all

Responds to they who on Him call

Alleluia, Alleluia!

He raises those that bowed down be

The eyes of all look to Him free

He gives them their food graciously

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

You open your hand, Lord, and give

To each creature and so they live

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Every living thing's desire you

Satisfy, and do us renew

Righteous and holy Lord and true

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

I used to like to sing the Alleluias as a child and this one has several. Good write Orchi

Thank you SB. In a hymn of the same tune, there's even more Alleluias with the penultimate line of each verse being 'Alleluia, Alleluia!'. So 5 in all, at the end of each verse. Phew!

Also - it's terribly sad in the clip if we're in any degree patriotic. Our Queen, only a few months before she passed away, to join her husband Prince Philip.

When a song contains so many verses of the same word it makes it easy to remember the words almost like humming. Yes sad she was a beloved person world wide and even though not British I found her charming and charismatic, a lovely and beloved person so rare now days at those levels.

Yes, 70 years of service - where some countries are ruled by monsters.

Orchi, this is properly Divinely Delightful...and I can practically hear the tune carrying it. Popeyeus has been instructed that the Alleluias are not a cue for interpretive spinach glugging, though already his throat is sounding like a pipe organ processed in reverse through a hellish goose-beast. Not quite the peaceful worship experience Olive was hoping for! 😂 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Thank you N. They might be Hallelujahs or even Alleluyas - are they strange creatures, this Alleluia family?! lol.
