To be judged
not as good
as his parents
To be known
for the things
he was not
His legacy
paled
in the afternoon light
With a name
that misfortune
— had wrought

This feels like a foreboding poem that contains more darkness than the afternoon should. Nicely composed my friend
Thanks. The reference of legacy. I can only imagine how King Charles must feel in his heart of hearts.
Kurt, this is brief but heavy. That kind of inherited comparison can rob a person of their own story before they even get to tell it. Great write, my friend.🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Yep, just ask King Charlie.
Thanks
