A distant light led my heading way,
taunting me to come and want to stay.
The more I walked to reach its site,
the further away went the light.
Teasing, it played at my mind.
In my sight but I could not find.
Hope had faded and time the cost.
Before I knew it, the thought was lost.

It is the ambiguity in this metaphor that gets the fave. It can be taken many ways depending upon the meaning of light. Nicely done my friend
