I am ruined for sunsets, they’ll never be as they once were
And if you extol the hues of purple, flames of red, strokes of orange, rays of yellow, I nod, I know, I concur
And yet, in my vision, it fades into a blur
Because as all things of beauty, all I can do in its face is reminisce about her
She is where my thoughts of beauty met their demise
The light dances on the clouds, but I cannot help but see through its lies
It all falls short, from my feet, to the horizon and into the skies
I thought the sunset was beautiful until I looked into her eyes
