TOMORROW
All that matters is tomorrow
To see that light again show – while -
We smooth away the forehead furrow -
Watch your child wake to a smile.
The rhythm of repeating day
Reminds us only that this great machine
Is geared fortuitous to let our play
Be written of, remembered, and seen.
And that tomorrow you and I will never see
Belongs again and more to those who we
Must tell the story to, to keep -
This strange unlikely tale of us alive and true –
- and maybe sometimes - get your child to sleep.
All that matters is tomorrow
To see the light again show – while
We smooth away the forehead furrow -
Watch your child wake to a smile.

There are few things that are worth anything in this life but to see a child smile is one. Lovely
