Movies
were the dream
merchants
of America
As people
flocked daily
to their local
big screen
Envisioning
life
in those celluloid
images
Seeing
themselves
come alive
— and redeemed

I was one of these long ago, even co-founded a group we used the cinema critics guild. 👍🏻🕊️
It was every Saturday afternoon for me. We watched every feature at least twice.
We used to be able to sit through several screenings on the one ticket... now we get flushed out of the cinema every single screening. lol We even used to stand through both anthems, the opening and the closing one when there was a double feature.
Kurt, this made me nostalgic for when going to the movies felt like an event rather than just another screen. There really was some magic in that. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
With thanks.
