SCATTERED VERSE

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

The idleness
Of the moment
Sits naked
Back to door
While a shadow
Paces restless
His eyes downward
To the floor.

The dying light
To dance on linen
Speaking silent
To absent friends
While the loneliness
It follows
Each step cursed
As life it lends.

Its solemn vow
To another night
Silence crackles
Coughs and hurts
Deep within
A broken heart
That aches in rhyme
And scattered verse.
