Looking for that lonely Star
Which travels near, yet so far?
High up in the darkened Sky
Almost out of sight as you pass by
Twinkling like a beacon light
Providing shadows in the night
A lighthouse to the Universe
Just like Sunlight in reverse
Shooting across your night time path
A streak just left as an aftermath
Amongst your friends, millions I know
What wonderful sights, to see them all go?
On their nightly ephemeral high above the earth
Traveling at such speed, for all their worth
Twinkle, Twinkle little star
I will always wonder where you are
One moment there, the next you have disappeared
Have you left me forever like I have always feared?
Would happen one day, a mystery
Where would you go, away from me?
Thankfully you have never deserted your nightly route
Always there looking so cute
A bright light I can forever see
I hope, there in the sky, you will always be
