Tune: Lauda Anima
('Praise, my soul, the King of heaven')
Joel 2 v.21-27
**********
Fear not, O land, be glad, rejoice
The Lord has made you His choice
And He will do great things for you
And unto beasts, cattle too
For pastures of wilderness spring
Plenteous fruit forth the bring
Be glad then, you, the Lord's people
Rejoice in Him, give praise all
For He has given former rain
Will give latter rain again
Threshing-floors shall be full of wheat
Supplies of oil, win complete
He will restore years that locusts
Have eaten, it shall be thus
Cankerworm, and caterpillar
Palmerworm, will not defer
To remove destroying army
Then you shall eat in plenty
You shall be satisfied, praise nem
Of the Lord and sing His fame
For He has dealt wondrous with you
You shall ne'er be ashamed, true
And you shall know the Lord among
You, the Lord God, praise be sung

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.7.8.7.8.7. Joel, and Old Testament prophet, refers to a plague of locusts having devoured the land. I can't trace a date for this though. He then goes on to speak of the invading army of the Babylonians attacking Judah (Southern kingdom of Israel). The two events can merge metaphorically. The hymn-poem tells of later restoration of the land and those people who turn to him again.

Orchi, I see Popeyeus Glug Maximus Solus has invoked the ancient Liberty of the Spinach Sandwich (invented by the 13th Earl of Gluggerverse). Obi-Wan has requested the relevant bylaws. None exist. Popeyeus considers this confirmation that he may proceed. Glugmen! 😂 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
