The Myth of Narcissus

Emperor

Cursed by loneliness

Cursed by vanity

A man heartless

Harbours insanity

In the woods i roamed

Hunting as profession

Echoes I heard

Of a million confessions

The hearts I broke

All cried a curse

That once I would love

And get deeply hurt

On a day so cruel

Stood by the river

My face I saw

In all the glimmer

The awe that struck me

Was a feeling unfelt

So I kept staring

And so down I knelt

Time passed me by

My heart had settled

Took my final breath

Daffodils, blooming petals
