I long for you

I long for your voice

The softness,

wisdom,

and strength which it brings.

The way it can drown out,

The noise

And deliver the calmth

after the storm.

I long for your eyes

How I can drown in

The Beauty

The landscape of thought

How they reveal

The Love,

The Pain,

The Truth.

I long for your mind

How it creates the universe around you

How it processes the things people

Say,

Do,

Show,

And how it makes you

React,

Act,

Breath.

I long for your hair

The way it hugs you

The way it flows

The way it emphasises your beauty.

I long for the way you dress

The way your style accentuates

your outer world

How it blends with you

as to not take away your

natural beauty, but

add to it.

I long for the way you make me feel

Loved,

Accepted,

Understood.

I can go on and on

But I just wanted to let you know

How I long for you.

Comment from author about the poem: My feelings don't allow me to seperate different types of love from one another. I never truly understand if I'm in love with someone or if I just feel loved by someone. Sometimes, when my mind spirals, the feelings I have for someone become an obsession. This poem was written when I was in such a state. I didn't classify the poem under love because I think it is the second category it falls under and not the first.
