ACT THE FOOL

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Upon the snow
Shines the sun
The crunch of feet
Day has begun
The tiny specks
Of birds feet line
The search for food
Beneath it hides.

The steady drip
From branches fall
Forming circles
In the call
Of cars to splutter
Men off to work
Windscreens scraped
Now pass the church.

That stands defiant
With whitened glow
As shop shutters rise
Shake free the snow
The hardy children
Make way to school
Snowball fights
And act the fool.
