I gave my all
Stood proud
Stood tall
Through every rise
Through every fall
I paid the cost
Through pain and loss
Crossed frozen streams
Without a gloss
When dreams took flight
I held them tight
Through darkest days
Through longest nights
The road was steep
The wounds ran deep
But hope I'd sow
And faith I'd keep
Each scar I wear
Shows I was there
I faced the storm
Repaired the tear
No half held heart
No timid start
I played my role
I gave my part
With every breath
I challenged death
And pushed beyond
My final depth
If I should break
Or fortunes shake
I'll know I gave
All I could make
No shame to hide
No truth denied
I left my fear
And doubt aside
For win or lose
I got to choose
To light my fire
Instead of fuse
And when they call
My final roll
They'll say I gave
My heart
My soul
I gave my all
I gave my best
I passed the trial
I stood the test

I loved the flow of this poem caused by the cadence of the meter due to the rhyme and short lines. It marched on as if in a soldiers file. Well done as the poem itself said.
