Wires

Alan R

Tied down in a bunch of tangled wires

My hands are too shaky to turn on the lights

To understand this, is not my goal

No anymore than it was to fight

Winning can look like a sad day

In lonely square meters of a glorious city

All the systems that got me here

Stare at me in wonder, in pity

Now I have to drag, myself around

And hope these wires in me behave

All I wanted was to be content

Cannot even fully wish to be saved
