As if the silence
Could read my mind
Its deeper thoughts
Its quiet time
The water still
The bare rock face
That rises upward
As if in haste.
To reach the summit
With grasping hands
The cloud dipped peak
Trembling stands
A monument to
A losing faith
Fading hope
In this quiet place.
The light breeze lifts
The hair from face
Invisible dreams
Relocate
Themselves to times
Far distant past
Memory skips
Thoughts they dance.
