I don’t know when it started
At first it was a thought
Then I blushed it off
I wanted to have more faith in you
I thought maybe you were different
But then I got disappointed
It wasn’t you
But the timing made it a sign
It was selfish sure
But I’ve always believed in,
“Better safe than sorry”
If first it was for protection
But now?
Maybe it’s just not for me…

The vagueness in this poem promotes curiosity and interest maintaining the readers attention. It is obvious it pertains to the relationship and is important that the continuation of the relationship depends in some way upon this. There is disappointment and a need for realignment. The lack of resolution keeps the poem in mind. Nicely done
There’s something beautiful about having your words read, but something even more beautiful about having them understood. Thank you for always taking the time to find meaning in mine!!
