I was once a petal,
soft enough to fall,
yet brave enough to bloom
chasing warmth beneath your glow
beside a fire that took it all.
Now, I write you in ashes,
with a heart that still believes
even flames must fade to embers,
and flowers bloom from fallen leaves

- Comment from author about the poem: To me, this poem is a reflection of growth, pain, and learning to let go. The petal represents the softness and hope I carry, while the flame represents the things I once thought would bring me warmth but ended up teaching me difficult lessons. Through this poem, I remind myself that not everything I lose is a loss, and not every ending is meant to break me. Sometimes, I have to let the ashes settle before I can see what is still capable of growing within me.

A strong write with powerful words of metaphor. Well done
