You should've seen me in yellow and blue
before I put on dirty shoes
and tied my hair into a ponytail
and hid in a coffee-stained vessel.
You should've seen me while I was bright
Oregon breeze on a campfire night
You would feel flustered: such a sight!
and sorrowful that I will die.

My attempts to see metaphor in this failed and I have to take it as literal and melancholically and nostalgically so. Nicely written
