In Blind Content, We Will Die

Michael A. McGuire

I walk silently through Life with my
eyes, ears and mind open, to the World
and its people, living then dying, in their
perpetual cycle of oblivious motion!

Always pausing to soak in the urgency of
a baby's hungry cry or feel sorrow for a
mother's aches and pains.

Understanding why a bird's tranquil song
puts our mind at ease but not why dreamers
long to accept the consequences of fame.

Laughing at our World Leaders, as they
auction off countries to doctrines having
the highest bid yet weeping as the World falls
apart, ignorance embracing us with a fool's
smile and kiss!

I want to know why we do the things we do!

Are people just animals used for experiments;
authorization granted by our own hand, and
this World, a vast holding zoo?!

Do we war because we're bored? Is Peace but
a conceited and unobtainable woman that we
secretly love to hate, so we beat her, rape her
then call her a whore?

Open your eyes people! Look what we're doing to
ourselves!

This isn't a dream that we can shake from our
minds upon the Sun's arrival at dawn; and it's
not just a game as we're foolishly led to believe!

Letting the World fall apart isn't what God
intended for us to do with his Gift to us. This
catastrophic dilemma of disease and confusion is
something only humans could conceive!

Children crying, people starving, governments corrupted
and religion processed, packaged and sold, mitigating
its meaning, validity and holy name!

YES: I'm afraid this World is dying and only ALL of us,
put TOGETHER, possess the knowledge to utter the spell
of resurrection!

Powerful it calls out the world for its state and cries for redemption through unity. Nicely written
