Ships

Megharoopan

I dream of the ocean

Lying down in this graveyard.

Still trying to understand, how do I know of this ocean?

Sailing through the high tides

Beneath the storms, cutting through

The misty waves.

Yet on these shallow shores, there isn't

Enough water to feel the cold.

Here the ships come to die,

Here these ships have never seen the ocean.

Yet, they are here to be scraped.

Yet again, I am dreaming of sailing the high tides.

Are we not all ships on the ocean of life. We suffer the waves and storms and damaged have to take to port for repairs. A wonderful metaphor.
