- Comment from author about the poem: I struggle with romantic love as I attach quite quickly, not out of naivety but out of wanting, perhaps desperation at times. But I’ve realised that I’m strong in letting people truly go, I take longer than other people to let go, but once I have, I’m free and I never have to doubt myself, in fear that I’ll return to someone who didn’t want me the first time.
