The Undertaker of Dreams

Michael A. McGuire

Disturbances in the night,  I come
to you like a thief to steal away
your dreams!

Nevermore will you worry about a
"second world". I am the only reality
that you will ever know!

On this ship, I am your master and
you are but a slave to my command.
Dreams are my speciality. You belong to
my realm now!

Forget the day! Nothing is real when
the Sun is out. Think only of me and I
will grant you your every wish beneath the
intoxication of sleep.

Fly high above the clouds, warrior of the
heavens or swim deep beneath the roughest
waters in search of treasure that once knew
the warmth of a pirate's bloody fingertips!

Please remember me from your childhood
fantasies, for when you forever sleep, I will
be your guide through another dimension in
space, as the undertaker of your dreams!

Dark and threatening this poem evokes fear of retribution and or vengeance. Well done

Michael, this is delightfully sinister! LOL! I love a good Gothic fantasy, especially one that leaves me wondering whether I should be excited or terrified about falling asleep tonight! Excellent work, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
