Alas my dear love, the sun and the birds both sing true,
The daylight of dawn, its mystery through.
Bring me the heavens of softest enchant.
Sing me a beautiful melody.
Rise up and stand and whimsically chant.
Love for eternity seldomly.
For lost is my love, my blood in a note.
Found is the dance, your heart for me wrote.
And turned was my deepest roses of bloom.
As ever you walk into my near room.
My mind will a flutter, like wings of a dove.
My trance will discover, the meaning of love.
And seldom perchance, a peaceful deep sleep,
Will enter my dreams, as we willingly keep.
