THE SLEEPERS EYE

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

To slumber falls
The eyes of night
The tiresome day
Released from sight
The heavy eyelids
Flicker to close
A promised dream
Without a home.

The veils of thought
Each deeper still
Its journey poised
To itself fulfil
Each shadow caught
In minds deep well
The visions of
Its inner shell.

Where strangers pass
In wisping flow
Silent voices
Some to know
Some long gone
Others to arrive
Within the realm
Of sleeping eye.

Otherworldly this poem feels seductively hypnotic and a bit surreal as it seems to float into that shadowy world of slumber. Nicely crafted with rhyme it purrs. Well done Norman

An excellent mantra for insomnia !

Norman, I’d happily stay asleep a little longer for the chance to see certain people again. Even knowing I’d have to wake up. šŸŒ¹šŸ–¤šŸ™šŸ•ÆļøšŸ¦ā€ā¬›
