There’s a monster that lives under the sea,
Waiting to strike and cause catastrophe.
I don’t know how much longer it’ll be,
Before things fall apart disastrously.
However I hear my intuition,
Telling me that it will soon come to pass.
For I’ve had a vivid premonition,
About a tentacled beast made of brass.
With eyes that are wicked and fully black,
And skin that is stronger than a steel sword.
It’s strength may be impossible to crack,
As he attacks without us being warned.
Rising from underneath the crashing waves,
Towering over cities and mountains.
Destroying them until nothing remains,
And all the people die by the thousands.
We are without a chance of victory,
But our sacrifice will make history.

- Comment from author about the poem: To be honest someone told me to write a poem about the Kraken and I came up with a perspective of being an insightful human that lived in those times that had a premonition of what was to come and wrote it down in hopes to be remembered for their sacrifice through history. Since, you know, I imagine no one would make it out alive in that scenario. Just my own creative twist on the whole thing. (:

Well rhymed and with good meter this story of a beast in dream form may well be taken as a metaphor as well as a mythical tale. Nicely done.
Thank you!
