The fragrance of a dead bouquet

sorenbarrett

Memories are all that we are
Vibrations of a remote chime
The light from a distant star
Echoes in time

Gone before we arrive
Shadows of the past
Dead before alive
Out of sight before we were cast

Mere reflections in a mirror
dimension's refractions that disappear
Light passing from there to here
A temporary holding of what was dear

How insignificant we are in the scale of things, a fav

Holding is almost always fleeting. For a while we’ve also hang up the flowers upside down to dry.

      • sorenbarrett

Thank you Cryptic for the read and comment. The light that comes from a star that may no longer exist is transient and can only be held in the eye for a moment. Yes indeed the upside down dried flowers soon drop their petals and their color so fleeting

                Well summed up.
                We are all but memories.
In the past, and in the future past.
Bound to be some star with my name on it.

                • sorenbarrett

There will be a Star or Planet Light Years away, Where within our Own light reaching it : We are still young . Or just Born. And all our Lost Family still alive.
We at this Moment are a Subject for future Historians to Ponder over.
                  Good Write.

Thank you so much for the read Kevin light travels as all things do and that which we see from a distant star may be from something that no longer exists only as a memory in light.

Yes . Astronomy is such a Fascinating Subject.
Facts that blow the Mind. 👍

                    • Tristan Robert Lange

Soren, the astronomy connection really spoke to me. We're looking at stars that might not even exist anymore, yet their light is still reaching us. Makes you wonder how much of our existence works the same way. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

A haunting reflection on the fleeting nature of existence, portraying life as echoes of the past and reflections of distant realities.

You are most welcome, my friend. Indeed, memories are precious fragments of our existence, preserving the moments, emotions, and connections that time can never truly erase.
