Between Illusion and Thought

alan b

The mind grapples between illusion and thought.

 Images of memories

 Events that never happened

 Hover behind reason

 And swirl in dreams

Without logic or sense.

0ppressed by

 Pictures of hopes

 Of objects he once longed

 To possess

He struggled once

Tearing his trousers

 Climbing an iron fence

To glimpse in a fountain

golden fish

That still swim in his mind

Eternal symbols

Of a fisher of men

Clever here multiple images as metaphor refract light into glimmers and illusion. The object is not where it is perceived but at a different angle. Nicely done
