I can't tell if I'm in reality or
just dreaming! One minute, everything's
as it should be, and the next,
I'm screaming!
I reach out to touch images and they
disappear. I'll be standing around,
talking to shadows, and they'll fly
away, leaving my mind bare! And then,
when I do come across something real,
I look right through it as if it were
air!
Please dear Lord, stop these images
of pain; and if they're just figments
of my imagination, aren't they all in
vain? I guess any image, mental or
physical, that's thought to be its
opposite, can have serious repercussions
on the body and brain! And if these
mind games continue, both will be rendered
lame!
Oh no! I mean yes! Oh, I don't
know which! This psychotic state I'm
in certainly is a BITCH!
I can't even escape my mind in sleep.
At least there's peace in dreams; or
do I slumber beneath Hell's brimstone
streets?
I guess I'll just battle life and death,
peace and pain, and wrong and right forever,
because this tormenting game I'm caught
up in is being played for keeps!
