Somewhere, Life Is Still Beautiful

Dev Parth

I think we forget
how quietly life keeps loving us.

In the sunlight resting on our windows,
in the stranger who holds the door,
in the song that finds us
on a day we have nothing left to say.

We spend so much time
waiting for something extraordinary
that we overlook the little things
that make being here worthwhile.

A message from an old friend.
The smell of rain on forgotten streets.
A conversation that lasts longer than expected.
A moment when, without knowing why,
the heart feels a little lighter.

Perhaps happiness was never meant
to arrive like a grand revelation.

Perhaps it has always been here,
scattered across ordinary hours,
waiting for us to stop running
long enough to notice.

And I know,
some days are harder than others.
Some nights ask more of us
than we know how to give.

But even then,
somewhere beyond the weight of today,
a tree is growing new leaves,
a child is discovering the moon,
and someone is meeting a person
who will change their life forever.

The world is still making beautiful things
while we are busy surviving it.

So today,
I want to look a little closer.

To notice more.
To rush a little less.
To love without waiting for the perfect moment.

And when life feels ordinary,
I will remind myself:

There is nothing ordinary
about being alive
in a universe that keeps finding
new ways to become beautiful.
