Which one are you?

Friendship

Which one are you?

Some days I am all four winds,
A tempest running wild and free,
A force that shakes the highest limbs,
Untamed, unstoppable, and me.

But today I am not that grand design.
Today the armor feels too thin.
I’m learning how to draw the line,
And fight the battles locked within.

Through racing heart and sudden cold,
Through panic shadows in the mind,
I’m reaching out, I’m growing bold,
With steady hands to help me bind

The frayed edges of a quiet soul.
A friend is here to share the weight,
To help the broken pieces whole,
And walk me safely through the gate.

I guess I never quite perceived—
Though shadows whispered in the dark—
That I was never, not once, believed
To carry this without a spark.

I was never alone.
