Meat and cheese:
The parties over,
In fact, it never even begun.
The meat and cheese has began rotting
and no one even touched it.
I set this all up in an effort to make people happy,
I guess I didn’t account for how much effort it would take for people to show up.
I would’ve eaten it myself,
but I wasn’t hungry.
I was,
I was just excited to save it for other people.
Now it’s gone to waste.
It’s just meat and cheese, but that’s not the point – it wasn’t about the meat and cheese.
It was about the fact nobody showed.
About the fact you shrugged and thought, “Nobody will notice I’m not there.“.
But I noticed.
Because nobody was there.
