Some things can just not be said,
A lot of things, merely put to bed
It's worth delving deeper into his simple soul,
To understand him as a human, and in whole
Betrayed and bruised, straight to the bone,
There's a reason he bears a heart of stone
All he wanted was for you to give him his value due,
Was it too much to ask, that you never had a clue?
It was easy for you to just move on, sans batting an eyelid,
Pushing him further into the darkness, where he always hid
Were your feelings for him never intended to last,
That you conveniently made him, a chapter of your past?
Maybe one fine day, it may dawn upon you,
He may have had rough edges, but of his word, he was always true.

Honesty is not always polished. Nicely written
