THE SOLDIERS SONG

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

You hear the tanks
Before the crimes
The burning flesh
The human cries
The burning homes
The twisted steel
You can take no more
Then cease to feel.

Their souls still walk
The winding path
Soldiers songs
Sung with a laugh
Tobacco pipe smoke
Rises still
Battles gone
As is the will.

The bodies lay
Dogs to feed
No burials
There is no need
None are left
All are gone
In the distance
The soldiers song.
