jack o'lantern

sorenbarrett

Amidst the corn field, dry from frost, lie the heads of spirits lost
Leafy legs and tangled arms, display pumpkins, beheaded on the farms
Between the stalks, so it's said, lies Satan's army of headless dead
On Halloween they rise, growing a glowing mouth, nose and eyes
For they in search of their head, will by mistake take yours instead
Look not into their burning gaze, lest you become a lost child of the maize
Let not their light upon you fall, lest your shade become your pall
Shadows cast from a severed head, one touch and to hell you'll be sped
There with a razor dull, your brain will be scraped from out your skull
A fire with embers put inside, next Halloween with demons to ride
