Tune: St James' Air [Series: Hymns with Saints Tunes 10]
('How lovely is thy dwelling place')
Psalm 146 v.5-10
**************
Happy they who the Lord God have
For their hope, He does save
And blessed they who hope in the Lord
Their God, and trust His word
He made heaven, the earth, the sea
All that created be
He keeps the truth for evermore
No falsehood, it is sure
He works judgement for the oppressed
Brings justice, gives them rest
He gives food unto the hungry
So satisfied they be
He frees the prisoners, opens eyes
Of the blind, hears the sighs
Of those bowed down, and them raises
They give to Him praises
He loves the righteous, helps needy
Fatherless, widows, see
And too motherless, widowers
His pity to them stirs
But the way of the wicked He
Turns upside down, so be
The Lord shall reign for evermore
Your God, from shore to shore
