Cereal

ᴍᴏᴏɴ

My bed is filthy

Like my soul

My hair messed up

Like my mind

I think something sweet

Would settle my heart

I'm going to get a heavier blanket

To sleep under tonight

The sun is bright today,

Like every missed chance

The livelihood outdoors

Is mocking me

The clouds slowly fade away

Like your face in my memories

The wind is light and unsteady

Like my sense of self

I love the trees

Yet I love autumn too

The trees die every year

Like something inside me

The night sky is starless

So much yet so little

The sea is confusing

I can't fathom its depth

And I fear if I were to bring

All the stars in space

Into your hands

You would still wonder why

I didn’t bring the moon

Maybe some cereal

Is what I’m missing
