ALMOST TIME

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

Your flame
Became less bright
Something missing
From your eyes
Moving with
More pain
Of which you
Tried to hide.

We forgot
How many years
Since you held us
In your arms
Or took our
Hand in yours
As children
At the start.

You tended not
To play as much
With grandchildren
At your feet
No longer took
Your nightly walk
Like clockwork
Up the street.
