The singing river

Melancholia

No firework, no flame
Just a river
Carrying your name

A calm melody
Singing, slowly flowing
Forcing my heart to heal
By showing me
How honest love can feel

Nurturing the life
That grows inside
It feels so refreshing
Not having to hide

There may be plenty of fish in the sea
But I chose you from the swarm
The decision was beyond easy
Your embrace felt so warm

Can I stay in your arms forever?
I whisper with sparkling eyes
Ready for a shared adventure
Let me be your home and protector

Once I wrote this for another person
Now it turned into a different version
One for my partner, my future vision
Giving me the most loving view
I’m just realizing now
Those words always belonged to you

This is a love poem, a recognition of another's value. Nicely done
