I have seen the Stars at midnight
Caught the stars at noon
Watched the Sun go down at evening
Almost colliding with the Moon
The dark clouds shield the setting Sun
Hide the Moon as well
Cascading Raindrops fall to the ground
Making a sound like a silent Bell
My eyes take in the darkened hue
The mind runs amok with thought
Of shapely figures in the shadows
Maybe doing what they aught
The shrill Wind whistles in the trees
Moaning out its woes
The Breeze continues carefully
It’s just the way it goes
Coldness rears its ugly head
Freezing all the ground
Like a solid Snow white bed
Lying all around
At eventide thoughts turn to night
Sleeping brings relief
From the cold winter feeling in sight
And the mists of disbelief
At slumber time dreams cast their spell
The minds drifts through it phase
Of things both good and bad as well
And sometimes full of praise
My dreams seem always to contain
Different worlds I travel too
The strangest ones I find a strain
Though they may be normal to you
I sleep to dream the Mermaid said
As I lay down to rest
I may live in a giant Waterbed
But sometimes I do jest
The dream I had just recently
Contained the verse above
I think about it decently
And the truth it wove
It’s strange just what the nightly waves
Can do to affect our thoughts in sleep
My mind feels as if it lives in a cave
Out of which one has to creep
Yes the mind can play huge tricks on us
Of that there is no doubt
But I will still look forward to my bed tonight
And any strange dreams that come about.
