I Lost My Glasses

Anthony Hanible

I lost my glasses

Where'd they go

I checked up high

I checked down low

I searched the couch

I searched the chair

I searched the places

That seemed most fair

I checked the shelf

I checked the floor

I checked the room

Then one room more

I looked by books

I looked by shoes

I looked so hard

I lost my clues

I searched the kitchen

I searched the sink

I searched so much

I couldn't think

The clock went tick

The clock went tock

I searched each drawer

I checked each box

I peered through piles

Of shirts and socks

I searched around

The flower pots

No luck here

No luck there

Nothing hiding

Anywhere

I searched upstairs

I searched below

I searched the spots

Lost treasures go

My feet grew tired

My face grew red

I flopped down weary

Upon my bed

Then something shiny

Caught my sight

A little gleam

A flash of light

I lifted up

A pillow spread

And there they were

Beside the bed

My missing glasses

What a cheer

They'd been sitting

Quietly here

All that searching

To and fro

For something

Just a step below

I grabbed them quick

The world turned clear

Found you at last

You sneaky pair
