I only wanted to have fun
Flying my kite beneath the sun
And letting my boyish heart lead the way
Back then I wouldn't have known
That I'd be reminiscing
About a time long ago
And long for those days with all my soul
I know I'm not the only one
Who cherished the moments they lived
Sometimes I just feel nostalgic
And wish those moments had remained
Who doesn't wish to walk once more
Through those days
I wish I could live those days one more time
To look to the sky and pray to the Lord
I feel my life is moving too fast
And all I can do is wonder why
I miss the air, I miss the plain
I miss it when life was fun and there were no regrets
But that was a million years ago
When I think of the many streets
Where I played and grew up playing stickball
I think of the many joys I knew
Like riding bikes and spending time at the swimming pool
But they're memories now
In the archives of my mind
From the days of my boyhood
But that was a million years ago
