The Jolly Farmer

cully45

I know a little Farmer

Five feet short or tall

But when he’s in your company

You feel he’s ten feet tall

His little round red face

Is such a joy to see

His shiny glowing bald head

Is as brown as it can be

He’s always in the Sun all day

Rounding up his Cows

His Goats are always bleating

And he gets grunts from all his Sows

The Old Boar gives him funny looks

Yes I mean his wife

She just watches his every move

She’s know him all her life

Ferdinand the Bull, a big brown brute is he

Has a rather large ring through his snout

Mounts the Cow’s at every chance he gets

But now limps about with gout

The Cockerel just struts about

Gives the Hens an awful fright

Humpty Dumpty’s all day long

And well into the night

Farmer Brown just walks about

No cares has he today

The Sow’s are giving birth to litters

The Vet’s now on his way

Dressed in Light Green Jodhpurs

That have seen better days its true

Fat round behind just hanging out

He just does not have a clue

With Molly his shapely happy Milkmaid

He goes into the old Cowshed

Takes them hours to milk the cows

Then they come out rather red

Old Rover his trusty sheepdog

He has not got a clue

He tries to round up all the sheep

It’s too much for him to do

Farmer Brown’s everyday existence

Is around his farm all day

He loves all his animals all to bits

And that’s the way he will stay

His raucous laugh and great big smile

Brings joy to all he knows

But in the end it is his wife, who’s there

To keep him on his toes.
