i can hear you
there, near the
picture window
of your parents’
lake community house—
there, my soul,
by the picture window—
sofa-lined,
there i sat
eyes closed
open in a universe of
sacred sound—
Beethoven’s
moonlight masterpiece
brought to life
by you, there—
like my poetry
lampblack inked
into your walls—
goth rocked—
there, no more.
haunted, a miasmic
memory—
there
no
more—
just a black
eventless horizon
on the northern shore
of nevermore

- Comment from author about the poem: Part of the Darklings collection. Image: AI-generated using ChatGPT and modified by the author; Poetry: written by Tristan Robert Lange, Human-authored. Music Video: An early recording of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, from when I was just getting started recording with virtual instruments. Rough around the edges, but it’s mine and fits this poem well. 🖤🎹
