The almost perfectly
sized orange
starts to
develop a
pungent smell
and soft mushy spots
on the table
as you let
the days flow
and become
weeks
hoping for it
to be more ripe
and sweeter than
it already is
with ‘enough’
time
to a point where
the hunger stays
no longer
to consume
and
relish
the orange
anymore

That perfect timing where sweetness is at its max before it sours. Nicely pictured here.
