Fair thee well

sorenbarrett

From out of dreams you wandered into my life, a child in heart
A butterfly, in my youthful play I broke your wings, trying to not let you depart
But still your noble spirit carried you upwards, staying with me despite the pain
You held on through seasons of summer sun, wind, snow and falling rain
A butterfly was never meant to be held, but born to be on the breezes free
Too delicate for chains even of the heart, broken wings cost her, her liberty
Then one night while I was sleeping, she crawled away from me, unable to fly
Maybe some day we'll meet again, when I no longer try to hold a piece of the sky

A fair (thee well) and fine write SB. Yes, if we touch a butterfly or moth we may damage its delicate wings.
