Tune: St Denio [Series: Hymns to Saints Tunes 15]
('Immortal, invisible, God only wise')
John 10 v.14-18
********************
I am the good shepherd, Jesus said, and know
My sheep, and they know me, it is even so
As the Father knows me, even so I know
The Father, I lay down my life for sheep so
And other sheep have I, they not of this fold
Them also I must bring, I say, it be told
And they shall hear my voice, then there be one fold
Gathered in one shall be all ages, young, old
Therefore does my Father love me, because I
Lay down my life for the sheep, will for them die
I lay it down, that I might take it again
And be Saviour of all, women, children, men
No one takes my life from me, I it down lay
Of myself, I have power, I the Truth, Way
And the Life, and I have power it to take
Again, doing my Father's will for His sake

Nicely written Orchi. A lovely hymn that seems most appropriate for Christian beliefs. His metaphor a good one for one about to sacrifice himself for his followers. Nicely done my friend.
